Shagun Singh is a user experience designer with a background in architecture. She is also a co-founder of Urban Matter Inc.
Urban Matter Inc. is an interdisciplinary experience design studio that transforms environments into experiences through storytelling, data visualizations, and user participation.
Before founding Urban Matter, Shagun worked in acclaimed innovation and multi-media studios like frog, Method Inc, 2x4, Antenna Design and Local Projects as a user experience designer. Her experience also includes working for the architecture office Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and the American Museum of Natural History. She received her Master's Degree from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU’s Tisch School of Arts and did her undergrad at the Center for Environmental Planning and Technology at Ahmedabad, India.
Shagun’s role as the principal designer at Urban Matter has involved bringing projects from inception to completion as a project manager and a creative director. Shagun’s ultimate goal is for people to participate and interact with a fun and engaging project in their community. Her overall approach is human-centric, and she believes public engagement is key to the success of her work.
